Future Airspace Operations and Digital Flight Rules

NASA is exploring a proposed new operating mode called digital flight, a complement to VFR and IFR. Under digital flight rules, the aircraft operator would use automation, traffic awareness, information services, and cooperative practices to ensure separation from other flights in VMC and IMC.
